Mateen is the Founding CEO and Managing Director of BCMG and brings a career spanning senior front-office investment banking positions at JP Morgan, UBS and Deutsche Bank, held across Japan, Hong Kong and New York. He specialised in the front-office distribution of derivative products, hedge fund sales and block trading, completing over US$1 billion in OTC block transactions and serving as deal captain on numerous billion-dollar transactions during his banking career.

During his time based in Tokyo, Mateen developed deep institutional relationships across Japan's financial community — relationships that remain active and form a cornerstone of BCMG's Japan corporate access capability today.

After leaving banking, Mateen founded and operated a real estate capital raising business in the United States, focusing on raising equity capital from Asian investors. He subsequently relocated to Australia, where he identified a clear market need for an independent, senior-led boutique advisory firm with genuine cross-border reach into Japan and Asia, founding BCMG in 2018.

Aaron is a senior M&A and corporate advisory professional with over 25 years' experience advising boards, shareholders and investors on both buy-side and sell-side transactions, ownership transitions and complex strategic outcomes across the Asia-Pacific region.

He has led and advised on sell-side mandates, divestments, carve-outs, restructures and capital events involving businesses across Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the United Kingdom, frequently involving private equity sponsors, strategic acquirers, family offices and institutional capital.

What distinguishes Aaron is the combination of senior in-house executive experience — including recent Chief Financial Officer roles — with a long career in corporate advisory and investment banking, enabling him to anticipate execution risks and position businesses credibly for sponsor capital and optimal exit outcomes.

Azusa is a native Japanese speaker and senior advisor at BCMG, where she leads the firm's Japanese Corporate Access practice. Her role is central to BCMG's ability to open doors across Japan's corporate landscape and to ensuring client businesses are positioned, communicated and received correctly within Japanese business culture.

Before joining BCMG, Azusa spent more than 17 years at Dentsu, Japan's largest and most influential advertising and communications group, holding senior roles spanning marketing strategy, major account management and client advisory across the firm's blue-chip corporate client base.

Azusa's role at BCMG goes well beyond translation. She designs and leads the engagement strategy for each Tokyo visit, selects and approaches counterparties, manages on-the-ground logistics, briefs client teams on positioning and etiquette, and leads post-visit follow-up to convert introductions into sustained commercial relationships.
